Your bookmarks stay yours.
The extension
Bookmark Grove reads your Chrome bookmarks to show and search them on your new tab. It uses Chrome's favicon service to display site icons. If you choose to enable history sorting, it reads visit information to rank saved pages. The frequent sites group counts visits across the same hostname, even when the bookmark is a subpage. Subdomains and nondefault ports stay separate. The recently opened bookmarks group uses visits to specific saved pages. History access is optional.
Bookmark titles, URLs, folder structure and visit data are processed locally in your browser. The extension does not send this information to Tich Apps, use analytics or advertising SDKs, or sell personal data. It stores a local cache of bookmark titles, URLs, folders, visit counts and timestamps, pending updates for bookmarked sites, and your sorting preference. The cache is shared by your new tabs and refreshed in the background. It is not uploaded or synced by the extension. Revoking history access clears cached visit statistics and pending site updates. Chrome's own sync and favicon behavior remain governed by your Chrome settings and Google's policies.
You can revoke permissions or remove the extension in Chrome's extensions settings. Removing Bookmark Grove does not remove your Chrome bookmarks.
This website
This static website has no account system, advertising trackers or analytics cookies. Our web server processes technical request information such as IP addresses, requested pages and browser details to deliver the site and support security and troubleshooting. This is separate from your bookmark and history data, which the website cannot access.
Download links serve files directly. The interactive preview uses fixed example bookmarks and does not read your browser bookmarks. If you contact us by email, we receive the details you choose to send and use them to respond and understand product interest. Please do not send private bookmark exports.
Planned features
Grove Plus is a proposal. There is no paid subscription, account registration or payment processing on this website. Planned AI search and organization are not part of the current extension. Before enabling AI, you will be told what data it uses, where processing happens and any provider involved. Optional AI will require a separate choice; the current local bookmark features remain available without it.
